so i picked up a 93 ford hp dana 60 housing with knuckles for $100 , im getting the axle re-tubed right now but i had a question for you guys as far as the steering goes
would you guys see any issue running a raised bracket off the tie rod and using a heim to keep the draglink at the same angle i have now ?
if i dont have to go to aftermarket knuckles that would save quite a bit of money since these knuckles cannot be machined for high steer
here is a pic (borrowed from pirate 4x4 ) , red would be with aftermarket knuckles and high steer arms (better angle on the drag link i have now) blue would be with the bracket that comes off the tie rod (same angle i have now with high steer arms on hp d44) or yellow would be a y-link steering setup

Move the Track bar down to match the Y steering (Look at Ryans design on Kevin's front end)
Or call me...as I would trade a set of the good HD king pin inner c's on 79 Ford tubes for a rock jock center to replace my 75 LP ford 60 housing....
Just putting it out there.

My vote would be Y steering and lower your track bar to match it. What you are purposing with lifting the draglink can work (and has for lots of folks) but will be a stress point with quite a bit of leverage. That's just my .02 worth. :)

I suspect it would produce some vague feeling in the steering. How do you keep it from twisting forward and back?
My assist ram twists my tie rod all over the place. I Need to find those bushings Ryan posted up. With the leverage in that setup... I doubt they would help you much.

I was wondering about twisting myself.

thanks guys , i want to keep the same angle on the draglink i have now but with a d60 so ill just go with after market knuckles and high steer arms
i figured the bracket would put added stress to the tie rod but i wanted to get other opinions :D
