Thats a nice truck. My buddy has a pathy that wants to copy your camo colors.

So what size tires are those? They cant be 35s.

They are 37's and if he wants to copy the camo it's easy. I think it's krylon who makes the camo spray paint. And all you need is masking tape, newspaper and alot of time.

Nice. I was thinking about 37s one day. But I love how the 35s tuck up in the fenderwells. They just fit.

My buddy has a nice pathy. But He loves flat paint.

It does not need paint.

Its a 3" BL and 3" UCAs. It now has all the CALMINI hangers welded on. The dana 44 is 100% rebuilt. Just waiting for a holiday to install next month.

Your truck looks real flexy. Do you have rubbing up front? Mine still rubs on the leafs at full crank.

Yes my front tires rub @ the lower front part of my doors only at full compression. Hopefully before gone moab I will have a chance to resolve that issue. In the second picture i am not fully flexed but the front divers side tire is about to rub.

Mine used to rub there. I decided to chop the rocker. It was easy and gave me lots of room.

Its just a hollow tube. With a sunroof drain in it. I used a sawzall to follow the fender line down.

Ben can I see some more closeup pics of the Calmini kit on your truck? We got the hanger and shackles on my truck this last weekend, and I don't know wtf is going on with it. The hanger is around .5" farther forward than it was meant to be I think, the shackles can't go through the frame where they're supposed to due to a crossmember being in the way, and to get the 44044s to stretch enough to hook to the shackles, the shackles are running inverted. I don't know what we did wrong but I'm hoping I can figure something out by looking at your pics? Thanks
Trent

What we have learned is to tack the hanger on then mount the shackles. This way a person can put weight on wheels to check the shackle angle. If the angle is off you can remove and retack the front hanger back and forth to fine tune it all. It is hard to do this off of pics being everyone is running a different setup.

It also pays to use the spring perches with 3 holes on the top. This way the front hangers can be placed for good shackle angle (not so much axle placement) and the axle can be moved back and forth using the centering pin.

You know the part that is funny. As a group on this site we have all learned alot of this stuff doing whoevers swap. We group up to pound out a mod in someones garage etc. Sometimes we forget about the out of state folks that hang out here so these thing never get posted up.

Just move out here already!!! :D

is your shackle inside the body mount? if not then most likely the hanger is too far forward. i put my shackle behind the body mount first, realized my mistake and had to re-do it.

Just move out here already!!! :D

I graduate in June, after that I'm about halfway planning on it, just need to find a job that pays well enough to support this habit!

That was probably a good idea on the hanger and shackles, don't know why we didn't think of that. It is now pretty permanently mounted, the guy who was doing the welding for me went a little crazy with gussets and now there are like 12 or something. If we need to torch it off and move it back, or make a new hanger, I guess I'm game for that.

Yes the shackle is under the body mount, it's only halfway sunk into the frame there though because my truck has a crossmember right there and it's impossible to move the templates/shackles any higher.

I'll see if I can find/borrow a camera to take some pics.

EDIT: As far as the perches go, I'm going SUA so am using the stock D44 perches

I did what Ryan said and moved my front hanger back about an inch from where cal-mini shows in the distructions(not that they show it very well).

Now that the hanger is mounted...the only two solutions I see are cut it off, or find (or have made) a set of leafs that fit.

my 2 cents....measure how much you are off then call Alcan up.

I was thinking about that as well. The only thing is that I'm still in college and took on a 2nd job to be able to get this done, and while it's helped out, I'm still broke as hell. How much should I expect them to cost?

From what I can tell from Ben's pics already in this thread, the hanger is farther back on his truck than mine as well. I'll have to look at mine some more today, get a good idea of what I think hopefully.

FYI...Ben may not have a cal-mini front hanger. His Orbit Eyes would not fit in the normal calmini hanger.

Allphase...either had to build a custom one or modify ends of the cal-mini hanger.

they modified the calmini one
